Raise the Price & Accept Amex!
Hey there,
We spent the last two weeks trying @yammer, @chatter, @hipchat, IRC and Campfire before finding you guys. The whole team was sold immediately, but here's my two problems:
-
The price is too low. We'll end up paying $12 / month, but I was expecting it to be more like $20-$25 (see github @ $25 for a small "Organization", Campfire at $24). Not to mention Yammer / Chatter, which aren't solving any problems but cost a fortune.
-
Need to pay on Amex - We have most of the trial left, but I wanted to get paid sign up out of the way today. We subscribe to a lot of services, and always use a corp. amex card. This is the first time we've not been able to do so. I noticed a Support topic on picking a payment processor -- have you tried Braintree? Or even just providing a PayPal / Amazon integration would be a winner. Just pass on the increased costs, if they exist.
Darrell

Hi Darrell, thank you very much for appreciating Jaconda and choosing it over the other solutions. Don't think we're yet in position to raise prices though, but it's nice to hear that you think we actually cost more.
Unfortunately Braintree and others work only with USA-based companies. The payment processor we are using was the best one we could sign a deal with.
We did ask them about AmEx payments and will let you know of the outcome soon.

Well, I won't ask twice!
For Amex -- any progress? Or Paypal / amazon checkout? It's going to be a real pain to pay via another means. Definitely would pay the extra service costs...
Thanks,
Darrell

Hi Darrell,
Sorry for the delay, but this is hanging still. We had to email to our processing center again, they replied that they are going to escalate our request and we will hear from them soon.
We will let you know as soon as anything changes. My guess is – not sooner than monday.

Hi, sorry for delay, our processing center just informed us that they can't accept AmEx at the moment (and it doesn't look like they are going to be able to anyway). We just got fed up with them and going to change the card processor but things like this take time.
The good news is - we are extending your trial until the moment the problem is solved. Enjoy Jaconda.

Hello again,
American Express is not supported still, but we've ironed out the issues with other payment systems so now you can pay with other major cards.

Hi,
It'd still be great to pay this via AmEx. Is there any way?
Thanks,
Darrell

Unfortunately we can't accept Amex. Our payment processing company simply does not support this at the moment.
